Review on Awaken (The Patronus)

Lucy Donovan is a college student out for a fun weekend with friends to celebrate her graduation right around the corner. A celebration that never came thanks to a drunk driver. She was happy and excited one minute and the next, waking up only to find out she was actually dead and that she had a whole new destiny ahead of her! One more important the she could ever imagine possible!
When Lucy wakes up from her life and into another realm she learns that she has been chosen to be something bigger then she could of ever imagined...Something very few are selected for, to protect the souls of the dead from the evil of Vampires and werewolves! These souls have to be protected until they're judgment day at all cost! As if that was not enough for her to cope with and try and understand she also has strong feelings for a member of her team, Max. She can not comprehend what it is she's feeling or why she has such a strong pull towards this man she just met! When Max approaches Lucy with the news that a very important soul to her is about to be released Lucy must quickly train and meet the requirements made to allow her to guide and protect this soul...But, the vampires already know who she is and find her a serious threat. She has powers beyond what most do in the realm that have been there for hundreds of years but will it be enough to save the most important soul in the world to her? Will she learn what it is she feels for Max or why she feels it?

This book captivated me from the very first couple pages! I instantly thought hmmm...well this is a interesting start...and I could not wait to finish it! I loved the twist in it and the fact that even there was a little romance it was not the only story in this book! The reason behind they're amazing pull is captivating on it's own!!! However this book leaves you wanting more and your mouth hung open at the end wanting to know what happened next! You may even find yourself trying to make the next pages appear even though they don't exist! I really look forward to the continuance of this story to find out how well Lucy will grow and where her relationship will lead her! Thank you Sarah M Ross for this wonderful book! 5 Stars!

I started my obsession with reading at an early age, getting in trouble for sneaking BabySitter Club and Nancy Drew books into math class in elementary school. I would read any fiction book I could get my hands on. I knew it was an addiction when instead of grounding me from TV or music, my mom would take away my books as punishment (The Horror!). My love of all things paranormal was inspired by my good friend Laurie, who convinced me that books with vampires, witches, and all things shifter were amazing. After a little reluctance, I gave it a shot with the Sookie Stackhouse books, realized she was right, and the rest was history.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with my degree in English, and taught 8th graders to love reading as much as I do for several years. I will always be a proud member of the Steelers Nation, but I couldn't take the cold and moved my frozen tush to Florida where I now live with my family and two cats. You will find me now with my trusty Kindle in hand and toes in the sand!

When I'm not writing or reading, I am probably partaking in my favorite vice: sunbathing. I know it's wrong, but I love the feeling on the hot sun on my skin and could lay in it for hours. I do live in Florida for a reason!

My review on The Conduit by Stacey Rourke

Celeste, Gabe and Kendall, three siblings whom have completely different personalities! Three things these siblings have in common? D.N.A, the loss of their father and a destiny soon to unfold  which they never would of even dreamed of!

After a series of home evasions the siblings moved from their homes in Michigan to live with their grams in Gainesboro, Tennessee. The move is only the beginning of their adventures to come! The trio comes head on with their destiny, learning they have a guide ( don't we all wish we had one of those), that they are chosen to fight and defend the world due to a vow made by their ancestors long ago and that mythical creatures like a Gryphon and Dragon are real! Each must learn how to unlock their inner powers becoming their destiny's as Protector, Guardian and Conduit! If they don't, the world is in serious trouble!

                                           My Review
This book was so much fun to read! I absolutely adored the humor that kept itself present through the entire read! You really feel like you are right there with Celeste enduring  the sibling bantering and can't help but cheer her on with her witty thoughts and responses! I, by nature am a very sarcastic person so this read just felt perfect for me! The humor of Celeste was not all! Trust me everyone of the siblings, including grams will make you laugh quite a few times! Put all the humor aside, you have evil ex soldiers whom turn into dragons, his soldiers whom turn into panthers and mythical creatures like guides and a Gryphon! So, curl up in bed or on the couch (maybe not at work, you may get busted for laughing to much) and enjoy the book!  You will be left wanting more and lucky for you book two, Embrace will be released June 1,2012! Don't wait to long or you will be left wondering what everyone else is raving about! 5 Stars!
