Blog tour brought to you by Phenomenal Reviews in collaboration with Author Stacey Rourke and Team
"When seventeen year-old Isis Martin is having trouble sleeping
due to perturbing dreams of a horrific growling beast, she decides
to confront her fear. But what Isis discovers is something other
than a menacing entity.
The human-like creature offers Isis assurance that he is not a figment
of her imagination. Unwilling to accept his avowal, Isis sets his words
to contest by asking the entity to prove himself - a dare, he readily welcomes.
It is in her dreams that Isis innocently stumbles upon the silent existence of the divine lineage of those that man has long forgotten.
In a quaint town, deep in south Texas, this story leads Isis onto the path of impermissible love and captivating life-changing truths. Isis Martin's
journey is sure to leave any reader ravenous for more."
Small little teaser :)
“You haven’t even asked me what my name is,” he finally spoke.
“Oh. Sorry.” My face grew bright red. I didn’t have the guts to ask him now that he had put me on the spot.
We continued walking down the hallway. Right before we turned the corner he stopped walking.
“I see you’re the shy type.” He tried to analyze me.
“Not at all.” I threw my hair back over my ear.
He started advancing toward me and pinned me against the white hallway wall. My heart started to race.
“Well, aren’t you going to ask me what my name is?” he pressed.
“Don’t…don’t try anything. I can scream.” I could feel my throat drying up. “The security guards will come right away if you pull anything.”
His laugh echoed against the hallway walls.
“I just want you to know my name.”
I took a side step, but he was quick to follow.
“I’m going to tell you my name, since you’re too shy to ask.”
My heartbeat was at my neck, while my mind sounded off all the things I should do: “I should yell. I should punch him in the gut.”
I was frozen like a deer in front of headlights.
“It’s David…” He slowly leaned in toward my face, “…and I’m real.” I suddenly recognized that voice. I opened my mouth in an effort to scream at the top of my lungs. He pressed his hand over my mouth muffling my poor attempt at crying out for help.
“I win,” he grinned.
My entire body trembled frantically as I felt the blood plummet from my head and down to my feet. I was no longer breathing. I started to feel a cold numbness. Everything turned black. My legs caved in taking my consciousness with them.

My Review
First, let me say I had this book on my TBR list for awhile and wanted to read it a long time ago but as a blogger and doing book tours I just did not have the time I needed to get it in there. So when the chance to do this blog tour I was more than happy to oblige! I've spoken to Author Nely Cab a few times and knew based on her personality that I would enjoy her book and she did not disappoint me. I will admit, it took me a small amount of time to get fully sucked into the story but it was worth the time!!!!!
This story was different then most. Isis was suffering a severe case of Insomnia, not because she could not sleep but because she FEARED it! The creature who haunts her dreams frightens her so much that she's really starting to look worse for wear and her friends, family and doctor are urging her to take sleeping aids to sleep! Isis REALLY does not want to do this! Everyone thinks if she faces this dream it will go away! *Snorts* Oh, boy where they right! Her dream becomes a reality! Then the story REALLY get's good!
David knows he should not be letting himself known to Isis, it's after all against the rules to be involved with humans. Something about Isis has him captivated to where not only does he watch her in her dreams he chooses to meet her in reality by enrolling in her High School! He after all was challenged to prove he was real, by Isis herself in her last dream. So, really it's her own fault! Right? No? Oh, okay. Anyhow...moving on...
David can't help pursuing Isis. Charming her, protecting her and eventually giving her a gift that is forever and could possibly cost him his life.
Isis is recovering from a heart break....her boyfriend broke up with her VIA text! Really? Text? (Cowards, I tell you! COWARDS!) She's sleep deprived, frightened and confused! David becoming a reality is just icing on the cake! She's told about things she thought was PURE MYTH and always believed it just that...a Myth...until said myth is standing right in front of her! She's now learning of things she never thought possible, trying hard and failing miserably to ignore the handsome Davids charms. Her life has really just rotated a whole 360!
This story is not all about David and Isis developing relationship. There's danger lurking everywhere! Isis ex boyfriend ( you know, the cowards who dumped her via text ) is back and he's wanting her back. Something's not right though. He's acting strange, drugged, talking to people whom are not there....and violent.....
David's mother loves Isis, but senses something different about her. Unknown to her.
What is Isis? Why is Gabrielle (the texting dude) acting the way he is and trying to harm Isis? Will the gift David gave Isis, eventually turn him into something that could cause his death along with hers? Can their developing love actually have a happy ending? Oooooohhhh well, I don't even know all the answers (only some of them) because the fabulous Nely Cab leaves you screaming "Wait! What? Noooooo........" (I'm not biter about this...nope) that you just have to patiently (or impatiently) wait for book 2 to answer. Yep, I'll be waiting...
